I would actually recommend something like a fat fast.  Higher fat (70-80% of calories) and more moderate protein (15-20% of calories) with low carb (30g of total carbs a day or less, 20g or less for metabolic damaged) is what will heal your metabolism best. So adding fat fast (almost zero carbs and moderate protein) would be better. 🙂
